  • संगमरमर के फ़र्श पर बैठकर भजन गा रहे सभी श्रद्धालु अफ़्रीक़ी मूल के हैं. एक भक्त लेबनान का भी है जिसने इस्लाम छोड़कर हिंदू धर्म अपना लिया है. हिंदू भजनों के साथ-साथ यहाँ सिखों के सतनाम वाहेगुरू का उच्चार भी लगातार सुनाई पड़ता है. सभी का हिंदी उच्चारण इतना स्पष्ट कि ये यक़ीन करना मुश्किल होता है कि भजन गाने वाले हिंदी भाषा का एक शब्द नहीं बोल सकते और न ही समझ सकते हैं. लेकिन धार्मिक विश्वास के कारण उन्होंने तमाम भजन कंठस्थ कर लिए हैं. एक ओर रखी बड़ी सी कुर्सी पर बैठे हैं भगवा वस्त्र पहने हुए स्वामी घनानंद सरस्वती जिन्होंने 1975 में द हिंदू मॉनेस्ट्री ऑफ़ अफ़्रीक़ा और इस मंदिर की स्थापना की थी.

    स्वामी घनानंद घाना के ही एक गाँव में पैदा हुए. उनके माता-पिता एक परंपरागत अफ़्रीक़ी धर्म को मानते थे. असली नाम पूछने पर जवाब मिलता है, “मेरा नाम गाइड है. दिशा देने वाला.” स्वामी घनानंद बताते हैं कि बचपन से ही वो ब्रह्माण्ड के रहस्यों के बारे में सोचते रहते थे. स्कूल में उन्हें ईसाई धर्म की शिक्षा मिली लेकिन उन्हें अपने किसी सवाल का जवाब नहीं मिला. संयोगवश उन्होंने हिंदू धर्म और दर्शन संबंधी कुछ किताबें पढ़ीं जिसके बाद वो ऋषिकेश की यात्रा पर निकल पड़े जहाँ स्वामी श्रद्धानंद के आश्रम में उन्होंने हिंदू धर्म को समझा. स्वामी घनानंद कहते हैं, “मेरे गुरू स्वामी श्रद्धानंद ने मुझे घाना लौटने और वहाँ एक मंदिर की स्थापना करने की सलाह दी.” शुरुआत में उन्हें कुछ मुश्किलों का सामना करना पड़ा लेकिन धीरे धीरे मंदिर में आने वाले स्थानीय लोगों की संख्या बढ़ती चली गई. स्वामी घनानंद ने बताते हैं कि “अब लगभग दो हज़ार अफ़्रीक़ी मूल के लोग हिंदू धर्म में दीक्षित हुए हैं और इस मंदिर से जुड़े हैं.”

    घाना की कुल आबादी लगभग 22 करोड़ है और यहाँ हिंदू धर्म को मानने वाले लोगों की संख्या पंद्रह हज़ार के क़रीब है. इनमें से तीन हज़ार अफ़्रीक़ी मूल के लोग अफ़्रीक़ा हिंदू मठ से जुड़े हुए हैं. घाना में हिंदू धर्म की शुरुआत 1947 के बाद से हुई जब भारत के विभाजन के बाद सिंधी समुदाय के कुछ लोग यहाँ आकर बसे और उन्होंने राजधानी अंकरा में एक मंदिर की स्थापना की. ये मंदिर आज भी मौजूद है.
    
    घाना में रहने वाले भारतीय मूल के हिंदुओं का अफ़्रीका हिंदू मठ से नज़दीकी संबंध है और वो यहाँ के कार्यक्रमों में लगातार शामिल रहते हैं. इस मंदिर की अदभुत बात ये है कि यहाँ शिव-पार्वती, गणेश, काली, राम और कृष्ण के साथ-साथ ईसा मसीह की तस्वीर भी रखी हुई है. पूछने पर स्वामी घनानंद इसका दार्शनिक जवाब देते हैं. उन्होंने कहा, “हिंदू देवी देवताओं के साथ ईसा मसीह और मरियम की तस्वीर रखने में बुराई क्या है? समुद्र में जाओ तो वहाँ रेखाएँ खिंची नहीं मिलतीं. ये इंसानों ने ही बनाए हैं अटलांटिक महासागर और हिंद महासागर. ठीक वैसे ही ईश्वर एक है पर हम उसे अलग-अलग रूपों में पूजते हैं.”

  • It has always been a practice of many-people, political parties, NGOs, some media-to keep on criticising ‘others’ without even trying to peep into own verandah! After the Holocaust, the second global biggest gas chamber took place nowhere else but in the independent Bharat. Bhopal reeled under it. Over 20,000 deaths, millions of physical and mental disabilities then and continuing even now. Except the then news coverage in a few print media and some purposely weakened court cases, nothing was said and done about it by the same people, who from 2002 have been blaming all Hindus in Gujarat, same people who dug out graves even in Bhagalpur just to punish Hindus and by the very same people who always took a pseudo-moral high ground whenever Hindus stood up against injustice meted out to them by the residues of invaders!
    
    There is truly no difference between the attitude of Warren Hastings and Warren Anderson. Those who did not have any heirs or those who were weak-such kings in the then Bharat were literally reduced to slaves by Warren Hastings even though people they ruled were happy with them. It was just to gobble up the states of the then Bharat as an imperial craze. Obviously the wealth of those states was all looted by Warren Hastings and his types then. Warren Anderson too did the same in a modern corporate way. Manipulating the then industrial scenario of Bharat Union Carbide pushed its way in Bharat. Bharat never needed the product they made anyways. In any other developed nation they would have to have a plant fully complying with the environmental safety standards. Not in Bharat. Didn’t Bharat have any such standards? Bharat had the rules-but on papers and that too for Indian companies.
  • Those who helped Warren Anderson flee Bharat enjoyed power for years. Their progeny is also enjoying power, money and life today whereas millions of Indians are still suffering. Do not get surprised if now to prevent any more cases on Warren Anderson and the types, if the same people come out with the new laws and constitutional amendments! Hafiz Sayeed, Dawood etc can’t be brought into Bharat because Pakistan doesn’t care a hoot for Bharat, Headly can’t be brought into Bharat because America manipulates with its sweet-Nuke-talk, Warren Anderson can’t be brought to books in Bharat for 25 years because the then ruling people helped him to flee after causing the second largest global gas chamber in Bharat! It is not shameful or disgusting; it is a gross violation of the law. But those who kept on saying in each election rally and even in their old age on the new electronic media that RSS killed Mahatma Gandhi (for which there were defamation cases on him and he had to apologise. But his then leader's progeny yet keeps on saying the same about RSS and sure to prevent such cases on him now his accomplices may even amend the constitution!)
  • Those who claim so much love for Malegaon and Ajmer victims are so conspicuously silent about Bhopal victims! Who really are the names in Bhopal escape saga? Ex-Justice Ahmadi, ex-Additional Solicitor General Aftab Ahmed, the then External Affairs Minister-state-Salman Khursheed, Pilots Hassan and Ali.... This is Bharat; not Pakistan. Bharat has its own CRPC. Sharia is only for personal matters; but those who shout every now and then about their ‘so called religious’ freedom under Sharia-what would they have done to all these people named above had the victims been allowed to follow Sharia? Sounds strange from me?
    
    But now there would be not uneasy but very studied and arrogant silence or some heavy English blah blah by these people. When Jamait-e-Ulema-e-Hind officially announced that they had created a pool of lawyers to help all those who had been caught for jehadi terrorism including the recently banned IM (Indian Mujahidin) Italian born madam recently sat on their dais and said, "Jamait ke aur humaare usool ek hain"-(Ours and Jamait’s ideology is the same!) Now is the time for Bharat to stand up again and ask all those who matter "Is yours and Warren Anderson’s ideology same too? So, you openly ban Indian Mujahidin but ensure that your state police file such a weak defense that Pune blast accused Abdul Samad gets bail, Faheem Ansari and the likes get acquitted and Warren Anderson, Headly flee Bharat! No brilliant lawyer or a prudent non-corrupt judge can do anything if the rulers mess up or influence the judicial process or even changes the law or creates bodies like NIA to jail all Hindus. Once the then Gujarat police officer Srikumar blamed the then Gujarat government for 2002 riots and the same people who helped Warren Anderson, Headly, Dawood flee Bharat lapped it up like a chocolate by a kid, NGOs and a few media treated that as ‘credible’ evidence, went to the Supreme Court and somehow got to set up even an SIT to send Hindus to jail. But now when the similar level government people in Bhopal-the then Collector-DM, Aviation Director are blaming the then governments and the same chocolate-lapping politicians and others are behaving as if those government officers don’t even exist! Same with Maharashtra Miraj riots! The then SP blamed a ruling political party’s leader there for riots and the SP is transferred, the leader is arrested just as a show but sure soon he would be out on bail. So if a government officer blames Hindus, he is honest; and if he blames anyone other that Hindus or RSS, VHP, then he does not even exist!

Govt should desist from appeasing militants: VHP

  • VHP today criticised the Jammu and Kashmir government's decision to provide employment to the kin of former militants and said it should desist from following policies to appease the ultras.
    
    "Omar should know that SRO-43 is just a safeguard for a government employee who, while serving the state, dies in duress leaving behind his resourceless family including unemployed children," Ramakant Dubey, VHP state president said in a statement here.
    
    The J&K Chief Minister at a high level meeting at Srinagar yesterday had approved the extension of benefits of SRO-43 (appointment on compassionate grounds) to surrendered militants.

  • Kazmi was in UP to visit his ancestral village in Amroha, around 300 km south-west of Lucknow. His father Syed Ahmad Saeed Kazmi belonged to Amroha. The family migrated to Multan in 1935.
    
    The international wing of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which provides Hindu priests to the overseas temples, said it can supply priests if the Pakistan Government was ready to give visas and security to them.
    
    Apart from Prahlad and Sun temples, some shrines in the Sindhu valley are also hit by the priest crunch. Prahlad temple is an important religious place for Hindus because it is believed that the festival of Holi started here.
    
    “The Pakistan Govern-ment tried to restore religious rituals in these temples because the local Hindu population is missing their religious traditions,” he said, but added that Hindu population has declined in the region. He, however, refused to give reasons for this decline.
    
    The United Nations had offered to adopt Sun temple and Sindhu valley temples as World Heritage sites but the Pakistan Government had rejected the proposal, Kazmi said.

  • If the recent Domariyaganj bypoll showed that the slide in the Samajwadi Party’s fortunes in the state hadn’t been stemmed, it also indicated the slow and steady rise of a little-known outfit of eastern Uttar Pradesh, Peace Party of India. By getting more votes than both the SP and the Congress, the PPI sent a strong signal to the two parties that its growing popularity among the state’s Muslim voters, particularly the poor, could not be ignored. And that when it went against the grain and fielded a Hindu candidate. This was the second time the PPI had made its present felt in the area after putting up a good show in five constituencies during the last Lok Sabha polls.
  • What makes the defeat worse perhaps for the party is that its former leader and now no-holds-barred enemy Amar Singh is supporting the PPI. Along with film star Sanjay Dutt and MP Jaya Prada, Singh had participated in a rally organised by the PPI in Domariyaganj.

  • What is worrying the two parties more is a change in the PPI’s strategy to expand its base beyond core Muslim supporters. The candidate fielded by the party this time was Sachchidanand Pandey, and it has entered into an alliance with two other little-known but important outfits — the Bhartiya Samaj Party and the Janvadi Party.

    “Our political strategy is based on the successful tricks adopted by the BSP in the past elections. Like the BSP, we are focusing on expanding our base among backward Muslims and fielding candidates from different communities,” a source in the PPI said.
