- The Indus Valley civilization covered an area of Pakistan and northwest India about a quarter the size of Europe.
- Although the language of the Indus civilization may have died out altogether, some scholars speculate that it relates to the Dravidian languages spoken in southern India and in Baluchistan (where the Dravidian language is known as Brahui).
