    • Residents of Nagsen nagar are annoyed with the Christians making prayers very loudly and for screaming going on in an unauthorized church here. The local residents have also accused the church of trying to convert the poor and downtrodden people under the guise of prayers and making the church available to followers of other religions for conversion of Hindus. The residents have, therefore, started a ‘signature’ campaign and have lodged complaints with the police and municipal commissioner.

    • Christians have been told to leave Nepal or face dire consequences from the Hindu group that claimed responsibility for the bombing of Assumption Church in Kathmandu in May.
    • Nepal Defense Army (NDA) “The NDA has been threatening non-Nepalese priests and nuns. It has asked them to leave the country within one month,” the Jesuit bishop told UCA News on July 8.

      He said the latest threats were made in the name of NDA chief Ram Prasad Mainali.
    • NDA comprises former soldiers, former policemen and victims of Maoist guerrillas. It claims to have trained suicide bombers to fight communists, Christians and Muslims and restore Nepal as a Hindu nation.

      Protestants have also received similar warnings.

So saturated had he become with the presence of the great God that for days after he could speak of nothing else. Shiva was all in all; Shiva, the eternal one, the great monk, rapt in meditation, aloof from the world". Later, Swami Vivekananda himself recounted: "I thought the ice-lingam was Shiva Himself. And there were no thievish Brahmins, no trade, nothing wrong. It was all worship. I have never seen anything so beautiful, so inspiring, and enjoyed any religious place so much".
    • The significance of the pilgrimage, however, does not end at the personal level. It extends to the much larger issue of cultural unity and vision of India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, from Kathiawar to Kamrup. Its importance as an underlying integrating force needs to be recognised. When some people talk of Kashmir’s relationship with the rest of India only in terms of Article 1 and Article 370 of the Constitution, I am surprised at their ignorance. They do not know that this relationship goes much deeper.

    • भाजपा के प्रधानमंत्री पद के अभी भी प्रत्याशी लालकृष्ण आडवाणी पार्टी में अब यशवंत सिन्हा, जसवंत सिंह और अरूण शौरी को निपटाने में लगे हुए हैं।
    • आडवाणी के निर्देशक पर ही इन तीनो को अब पार्टी के महत्वपूर्ण बैठको में बुलाया नही जा रहा है।
    • इसी मुहिम के तहत आडवाणी अब शौरी को अगली बार किसी भी हालत में फिर राज्यसभा में नही आने देने की योजना बना लिये हैं।
    • लेकिन सिंह, सिन्हा, शौरी त्रिमूर्ति भी कोई मिट्टी का माधव नही है। अगले कुछ माह में आडवाणी को नाको चने चबाने पड़ सकते हैं। अमेरिका के इशारे पर भाजपा को मनमोहन सरकार की पिट्ठू बना देने की आडवाणी की चली जा रही चाल को यह त्रिमूर्ति एक-एक कर एक्सपोज करेगी।

    • सेक्टर-14 श्रीकृष्ण मंदिर व हुडा (हरियाणा अर्बन डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी) के बीच चल रहा विवाद शनिवार देर रात उस समय तेज हो गया, जब पुलिस ने हुडा की शिकायत पर मंदिर संस्था अध्यक्ष अशोक सुखीजा को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। पुलिस ने अशोक सुखीजा के खिलाफ हुडा की जमीन पर कब्जा व नुकसान करने के आरोप में धारा 447, 427, 452, 149 के तहत मामला दर्ज किया। संस्था अध्यक्ष की गिरफ्तारी का विरोध करने के लिए कई संस्थाएं एकजुट हो गई।

      मंदिर संस्था, भारतीय जनता पार्टी, विश्व हिंदू परिषद, धर्म जागरण मंच, बजरंग दल के सदस्यों ने देर रात को ही सिविल लाइन थाना का घेराव किया।

    • संस्थाओं के सदस्य दीपक धवन, चंद्रप्रकाश कथूरिया, विनीत खेड़ा, अशोक भंडारी, नरेश गोयल, अशोक गुप्ता, जीत खुराना, सिद्धार्थ सहित अन्य का कहना था कि मंदिर संस्था की ओर से जन्माष्ठमी के लिए जिस स्थान पर फुटपाथ का निर्माण किया जा रहा था, वह हुडा के अधीन नहीं है, लेकिन हुडा ने अध्यक्ष के खिलाफ यह कहकर मामला दर्ज करवा दिया कि उन्होंने जबरदस्ती हुडा की जमीन पर कब्जा करने का प्रयास किया। मामले को लेकर कोर्ट में केस चल रहा है।

    • A Muslim person named Ibrahim deceived a young, married Hindu woman by posing as a Hindu and lured her into a love affair. He then abducted her. When the married woman realised that he was a Muslim, she refused to marry him. The woman was rescued by her father, who is in police department, with the help of a social organisation. (Although the father of the girl is a policeman, he had to seek help of a social organisation to rescue his daughter. This indicates ineffective working of the police department. Why should people provide for such police machinery ? – Editor SP)

    • विगत दिवस समीपवर्ती मंडी डबवाली में गौ वंश की हत्याओं से उद्वेलित हुए हिंदू संगठनों ने मंगलवार, 14 जुलाई को बठिंडा बंद का ऐलान किया है।

      विश्व हिंदू परिषद, बजरंग दल समेत विभिन्न हिंदू संगठनों ने रविवार शाम को एक हंगामी बैठक कर इस कुकर्म की कड़े शब्दों में निंदा करते हुए सरकार की नीतियों के प्रति रोष जताया। उन्होंने बताया कि गौ वंश के हत्यारों को कड़ाई से न निबटने की वजह से ही इनके हौसले बुलंद है और वे निर्ममतापूर्वक हिंदू की मां गऊ का वध कर अपना व्यापार चला रहे है।

    • The service provided by Christian and Muslim community is imperialistic and not on humanitarian grounds while the social service initiative of Hindu organisations is only for public cause, Togadia said.
    • The VHP leader said there was a misconception that Christian organisations are leading in providing services to the poor, but it is hardly one per cent of that by Hindu organisations.

However, we will not play politics on this great human tragedy and instead investigate and attempt to find a policy response.
    • However, it is easy to see that simply ending prohibition will not eliminate the problem - the price differential between the illicit stuff and the lowest priced licensed stuff is still too high.

    • "It is strange that a terrorist like Mohammad Ajmal Kasab is being given VIP treatment in jail while Thakur is being punished for her Hindutva ideology," Sadhvi's lawyer Naveen Chomal said.
