  • हुबली के ईदगाह के मैदान का भूमि विवाद सन् 1921 से चल रहा है, जब हुबली नगरपालिका ने स्थानीय अंजुमन-ए-इस्लाम को इस मैदान का 1.5 एकड़ हिस्सा नमाज के लिये कुछ शर्तों पर दिया था। शुरु से ही शर्तों का उल्लंघन होता रहा, प्रशासन, सरकारें आँखें मूंदे बैठे रहे। जब हिन्दूवादी संगठनों ने इस पर आपत्ति उठाना शुरु किया तब हलचल मची, इस बीच 1990 में अंजुमन ने इस भूमि पर पक्का निर्माण कार्य लिया, जिसने आग में घी डालने का काम कर दिया, और जब सरकार ने इस निर्माण कार्य को अतिक्रमण कहकर तोड़ने की कोशिश की तब मामला न्यायालय में चला गया, फ़िर जैसा कि होता आया है हमारे देश के न्यायालय न्याय कम देते हैं “स्टे ऑर्डर” अधिक देते हैं, मामला टलता गया, गरमाता गया, साम्प्रदायिक रूप लेता गया। उल्लेखनीय है कि मध्यप्रदेश की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सुश्री उमा भारती ने इस मैदान पर जब तिरंगा फ़हराने की कोशिश की थी, तब “स्वार्थी तत्वों” दंगे भड़काये गये थे और पुलिस गोलीबारी मे 9 लोग मारे गये थे, उमा भारती के खिलाफ़ स्थानीय न्यायालय ने गैर-ज़मानती वारंट जारी किया था और उन्हें संवैधानिक बाध्यताओं के चलते अपना मुख्यमंत्री पद छोड़ना पड़ा था।
  • अब देखना यह है कि कर्नाटक के मुख्यमंत्री येदियुरप्पा सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्णय के बाद उस जगह से अंजुमन का अतिक्रमण हटाने में कामयाब हो पाते हैं या नहीं (क्योंकि सुप्रीम कोर्ट के कई निर्णयों को लतियाने की परम्परा रही है इस देश में)। वैसे तो यह पूरी तरह से एक भूमि विवाद था जिसे अतिक्रमणकर्ताओं ने “साम्प्रदायिक” रूप दे दिया, लेकिन फ़िर भी उमा भारती के लिये व्यक्तिगत रूप से यह एक नैतिक विजय कही जा सकती है।

  • Five persons — including four women and a child — died on the spot. Two others succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
    
    “The rush to get accommodated on the first ferry resulted in the stampede,” said Surajit Kar Purakayasta, IG, Law and Order.
  • “The ferry was delayed due to the low tide,” said Khalil Ahmed, District Magistrate, South 24-Parganas. “The pilgrims were trying to board the first boat to Sagar Islands at Kakdwip. They had entered the jetty area breaking through the barricade and the crowd could not be controlled.”
  • Asit Das from Deulti, North 24-Parganas, who was an eyewitness to the incident, said the situation was a case of total mismanagement by the administration. “Not a single police officer or volunteer was present at the spot to control the crowd.”

  • Anchal Sharma nee Amina Yousaf, widow of Rajneesh Sharma, who was seeking justice from the apex court to bring culprits responsible for her husband’s death behind bars, has suddenly disappeared from the house of her in-laws in Jammu under mysterious circumstances.
    
    Leaving behind a trail of puzzles for the Jammu and Kashmir Police to solve, Anchal reportedly disappeared in the wee hours of Friday when all other members of the family were fast asleep.
    
    According to her in-laws, Anchal was barefoot and was not even wearing woollens when she disappeared in the wee hours.
    
    Even the lone police guard on duty was found sleeping when Anchal went missing through the rear gate of the house.
    
    Ironically, the cover of five policemen provided to Rajneesh's family on the directions of the apex court was lifted by the local police authorities in the name of Republic Day duty only a few days back.
    
  • Unconfirmed reports, however, suggested that Anchal had safely reached Srinagar and is said to be camping in the house of a close relative.

  • Strangely, there seems to be discrimination even in the sadism of the systems! The systems that so much harass Hindu farmers for loans, suddenly become friendly towards minorities (one of such minorities very fondly now has started calling itself “the second-largest majority in India” and yet wants to get all minority benefits snatched from Hindus and Hindu SCs/OBCs/STs! Sadistic systems in the name of democracy!). For admission in a school/college a meritorious Hindu or a Hindu SC/OBC/ST student has to stand in the long queue even to get a form; but the minority institutions not only get unusual facilities and favours from the governments but even their students get jobs an platter! This is also sadism within a sadistic system.
    
    Electricity department and income tax department raid those who steal electricity and those who do not pay income tax. How many Muslim localities are raided by electricity department? How many Muslim businessmen were raided by income tax department? Even the criminal law system seems to be sadist towards Hindus. Even the criminals follow the same sadism. Bharat has not heard of any abduction of a Muslim boy or a businessman for ransom; only Hindus are a soft target for governmental or criminal sadistic systems!
    
    So, today, Hindu in Bharat is forced to face double sadism. One, which is set in all systems and the other that is specially designed to torture Hindus to ‘look’ secular, modern, moderate! This has been putting additional stress on the Hindus. Otherwise, tell me why none of the children/youth/farmers/executives who committed suicides is from minority? Why are all of them Hindus? And don’t give me the secularists’ favourite answer: Oh! These religions do not permit suicides.

  • केरल के पथनामथिट्टा जिले के सबरीमाला में हिन्दू धर्म के प्रसिद्ध अयप्पा स्वामी मंदिर में इस सत्र में 120 करोड़ रुपये का चढ़ावा आया है।
    मंदिर के कार्यकारी अधिकारी वीएस जयकुमार ने बताया कि मंदिर में आने वाले तीर्थयात्रियों और संग्रह के तौर पर आने वाले चढ़ावे ने एक रिकार्ड कायम किया है।
    जयकुमार ने बताया कि इस 62 दिन के सत्र में महीने के 19वें दिन कल (शुक्रवार) को कुल संग्रह 121.71 करोड़ पहुंच गया। जबकि पिछले साल की समान अवधि में यह 16 करोड़ रुपये इकट्ठा हुए थे। उन्होंने बताया कि नारियलों की संख्या पांच करोड़ से ऊपर पहुंच चुकी है।
    प्रत्येक दिन औसतन यहां 2.17 करोड़ रुपये का चढ़ावा आता है और 13 जनवरी को मकर ज्योति के अवसर पर 3.40 करोड़ रुपये चढ़ावा आया।

  • TAKING seriously the news of serving beef to foreigners during the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, the Delhi unit of Bajrang Dal warned the Government of Delhi against taking any such step. The Bajrang Dal warned if beef was served to any guest during the Games the entire Hindu society would be in the streets and it would not tolerate it at any cost. Delhi state joint convener of the Dal Shri Shailendra Jaiswal told the MCD, Government of Delhi and other agencies to make the their stand clear on the issue. The Dal adopted a resolution in its meeting on January 7 and termed it very unfortunate that one hand the Union Environment Minister Shri Jairam Ramesh warned the western countries of the consequences of beef eating during Copenhagen climate change summit, on the other hand the Government of Delhi is trying to serve beef to the foreigners in India. Meanwhile, the MCD banned the serving of beef in Delhi and Mayor of Delhi Dr Kanwar Sen inaugurated a Gou Grass Kendra in East Delhi. People will be able to collect the edible materials at this centre which will be further provided to various goushalas of Delhi.

  • The only politician at the Centre who was held accountable for 26/11, primarily because of his abysmal failure to do anything at all for nearly five years, was Home Minister Shivraj Patil. Remember how after every terror attack he used to blame Pakistan and the ISI, and consider his job done? Remember how he used to deflect attention from his unacceptable incompetence and incomprehension of the challenges of his job by saying that he had the "blessings of his leader" (Sonia Gandhi)? Remember how even as serial bomb blasts were rocking Delhi minutes away from him, he found time to change his clothes thrice in an hour? Remember how he tried justify not hanging Indian national Afzal Guru by linking it with India's request to Pakistan to not hang Indian national Sarabjit Singh?
    
    Now that 26/11 has been completely forgotten and elections in Maharashtra won by the Congress, this gentleman has been rewarded for his loyalty to his leader with the plum post of Governor of Punjab so that he can spend his remaining years on this planet unrepentant and in luxury at the expense of the aam admi.
    
    The other guilty man who should have himself resigned on moral grounds after 26/11 is National Security Advisor MK Narayanan. He did virtually nothing as India's NSA but waffle through his years on the job. Yes, the one thing that he did commit to doing on TV - and perhaps did - was carrying out a thorough review of Rahul Gandhi's security after three terrorists, who the nation was told planned to kidnap him, were arrested in Lucknow. Perhaps due to his age he was unable to remember that his primary job was to carry out such a review for India. This former Director of the IB should have been the best man to revamp India's virtually non-existent intelligence machinery. But, despite numerous trips to the US on state expense, things only got worse and accountability never, ever came into the equation. On the contrary, even though he was a stand-out non-performer at such a difficult time, not only did he not lose his job then, but has now been chosen to do in West Bengal what Patil is going to in Punjab.
    
  • This is the perfect recipe for pushing a nation down the self-defeating and confidence-sapping slope of resigned acceptance that the only way to meet any threat to it is meek surrender. We may not understand what this mindset has done already and will do in future, but the Pakistanis and the Chinese smelled blood long back. That is why they have been chipping away wherever they can, for years. They know that a nation that is run like this will one day simply cave in behind a cloud of fraudulent but lofty and moralistic words. It is only a question of time. Unless they miscalculate and wake it up prematurely, like Laden did on 9/11. Let us pray they do, for there is little hope that anything less will.
