Desicritics.org: For The Love of Hussain

  • tags: no_tag

    • Abhinandan Mishra
    • I am a just bit worried that how much more battering our poor old Constitution will be able to withstand. Every alternate day some Tom, Dick and Harilal rises up with a copy of the Constitution waving in the air and shouting on the top of their voice that " The fundamental rigfhts of Mr.X has been violated".
    • Forgotten is why Hussain never apologised on the second place after it is forgotten that he should have been asked that why did he chose to paint only Hindu gods in nude in first place.
    • Whether the intellectuals will focus on freedom of expression or they will shout violation of breach of privacy if this very Picasso paints them or their close one in nude.
    • I have stayed in Qatar and if i am even 10 percent right then I don't think he will even think of letting his artistic creativity go wild.

Hussain should not live under any disillusionment, Allahs right has always been more enforceable in any part of the world, be it India or Qatar.

M.F. Hussain should face Indian Judiciary in spite of absconding says VHP, Orissa News

  • tags: no_tag

    • Dr. Surender Kumar Jain, Spokesperson of V.H.P says that M.F. Hussain is not absconding from India out of the fear of Hindu Organisations but he is afraid of the results of the court cases registered against him due to his misdeeds. If anyone is trying to evade the judicial process, the only word for him by the legal system in "absconder". If any Indian citizen has any faith in India and its constitution, he should face the judiciary inspite of running from it.

What can be the consequences of insulting Mother India and Hindu Gods-Goddess, perhaps M.F. Hussain knows better than his blind supporters. That is why, he is not at all impressed by the campaigns launched to bring him back. While making nude pictures of Mother India and Hindu Gods-Goddesses, he must be having in his mind that he has painted his mother, Bibi Fatima, and Mother Teressa in a very pious and descent manner. His blind followers may ignore his double standard, but he might have remembered his wilfully committed sins. If his followers wants to defend him in the name of "Freedom of Expression", they should dare to paint Bibi Fatima, Mother Teressa and their own mother in the same fashion.
    • It should be made clear that Qutar has awarded its nationality to Hussain as an award to insult Hindu Dharam, not as a respect to freedom of expression. If they have any respect for such rights they should have awarded their nationality to Taslima Nasreen and Salman Rushdy also.

    • Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Saturday said her government has ‘no money’ to shell out as compensation to the victims of the Pratapgarh temple stampede.

“The UP government is cash-strapped and has no money to offer the families of the dead and injured,” Maya told local media on Saturday.

“It’s the Centre's Calamities Relief Fund that disperses money for natural disasters. It also provides for tragedies like stampedes,” she added.

At least 63 people were killed and over 50 injured in a stampede at a temple at Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

The stampede broke out at Ram Janaki temple after a concrete gate collapsed while over 1000 devotees gathered for ‘satsang’ and free lunch (abhandara) hosted by Kripaluji Maharaj.

Mangalorean.Com- Fringe groups splitting up

  • tags: no_tag

    • MANGALORE
    • The fringe groups of coastal areas are now stranded, with their parent organisations not giving them enough money to survive. They are showing signs of breaking up, these are the groups that have carried out various fundamentalist agendas of the political parties, are no more interested in being attached to a particular political party but are either seeking direct involvement in the political parties or want the political parties to cough up higher funding.

Three groups -Sri Rama Sene, Bajrang Dal, Karnataka Forum for Dignity (KFD) that had been active in coastal areas have shown degeneration of its cadres. In the last one month ominous developments have taken place in these three organisations. The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike has also lost cadres. The KFD has lost its cadres to the other political parties in Karnataka as well as Kerala.

The Bajrang Dal which is the largest fringe group of the BJP that has over 4000 active membership, has sounded an alarm with the BJP leadership that its cadres are gradually distancing themselves from the Bajrang Dal. The BJP had used these cadres during its election campaigns. After the partys victory in 2008, Bajrang Dal had been engaged in carrying out chores for the BJP in furthering the Hindutva agenda. Many of the cadres have also found themselves in the wrong side of the law in the process.

    • PATLIPUTRA
    • Paswan, who had dug out the ultimate weapon to woo Muslim voters of Bihar in 2005 Assembly elections by employing an Osama bin Laden look-alike, also sought to ban “communal” groups such as RSS and VHP.

He, obviously, received a huge applause from the audience when he demanded to remove ban from ’secular’ groups like Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).

दूर देश के हुए हुसैन!

  • tags: no_tag
