Manufacture of toys depicting slaying of Afzal Khan stopped in Miraj - General | hindujagruti.org

  • tags: no_tag

    • Among the toys manufactured for keeping in the models of forts prepared during the Diwali vacation, statue depicting the slaying of Afzal Khan and keeping alive the memories of bravery shown by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was quite popular among children; but this year, such statues are not seen in the market. The reverberations of the riots have now stopped; however, it shows that the fear among Hindus towards Muslims has not yet lessened.

In a news item telecast by a local channel in the background of Diwali festival, Mr. Shivaji Kumbhar, a trader of such statues stated that this year the statues have not been manufactured to avoid hurting religious sentiments of anyone. Every year, children prepare models of forts on the occasion of Diwali to remember the blazing history of Shivaraya and to keep alive the ‘Dharma-tej’. During this year’s Sree Ganesha Festival, Muslims objected to the picture depicting slaying of Afzal Khan by Chhatrapati Shivaraya and started riots, therefore, the sculptors have avoided to make such statues.

Husain exile to end? UPA has a plan - General | hindujagruti.org

  • tags: no_tag

    • According to sources, Husain's self-imposed exile may come to an end if a plan being worked out by the UPA succeeds. CNN-IBN has learnt that the Government is making its first move to try and come to the rescue of Hussain.

Home Ministry sources have confirmed that cases filled across the country against Husain should be expedited. This will enable the Government to work out a focussed strategy to bring Husain back.
    • In 2007, the Supreme Court had clubbed the cases against Husain from Gujarat and many other states in the country. Last year, the Delhi High Court gave Husain a clean chit calling his controversial paintings an expression of creativity.
    • In its second stint, the UPA wants to give out the message that it stands for tolerance and acceptance of all kinds of stands. The fatwa issued against Husain and his subsequent exile remains one of the biggest controversies. A resolution of this controversy will certainly go as a feather in the Home Minister's cap.

* VivekaJyoti *: Why does the Congress party remain constantly under the wings of the Nehru dynasty?

  • tags: no_tag

    • Maulana Abul Kalam Azad said, “Now a situation had arisen where we were becoming greater supporters of partition than Jinnah. I warned Jawaharlal that history would never forgive us if we agreed to partition. The verdict would be that India was divided not by the Muslim League but by Congress” (ibid p 202).
    • In the absence of Jinnah, opportunism gained momentum in the Congress. In the 1935 Provincial Assembly elections, the INC under the leadership of Nariman got a thumbing majority in the Bombay Presidency. Nariman’s candidature as CM was genuine. Sardar Patel and his equals could not stomach a Parsee as CM of Bombay. Patel and his colleagues “could not reconcile themselves to such a position and felt that it would be unfair to the Hindu supporters of the Congress to deprive them of this honour” (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India Wins Freedom, p 16).

Thus B.G. Kher was made CM. Nariman was heart-broken and his public life came to an end. Nehru was then the president of INC. But to Nehru, for the realization of his goal, Patel’s friendship was essential.

A like situation developed in Bihar also. Here Dr. Rajendra Prasad played the game. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad evaluates that, “the Congress did not live up to its professed ideals” (ibid p18). No doubt, inside the Congress certain venomous developments evolved. The first victim may have been Jinnah; others were subsequent additions. But behind the charisma of Gandhi, all these stains were not noticed by the rest of the world. One cannot acquit the conclave evolved under Nehru behind the magnetism of Gandhian era. Really the rudiments of communalism were inherent in the propositions of the INC.

    • Kottayam
    • Yes, as expected the shameless crooked Missionaries now claim Vijayadashami and Shivarathri as Christian celeberations being imitated by Hindus in India!

According to Father varghese Koomanthala of Kottayam St. Baselieus Church Vijayadasami is the day when Jehovah enlighted Jesus with Knowledge, That is the reason why
Church organises 'Ezhuthu Koodasa'! The Hindus had merely copied this Christian ritual and named it as Vijayadasami. The 'Ezhuthinirutthu' in temples are nothing but the imitation
of 'Ezhuthu Koodasa' claims this Koomanthala.

The same Enlightened soul Koomanthala have no doubt in the fact that it is 'Misiha Rathri' the night in which Jesus discussed a whole night with his disciples is now being followed by Hindus as Mahasivarathri. Inorder to remember that night Christians will not sleep on 'Misiha Rathri' and noticing that Hindus followed that says this owlhead.

|| Satyameva Jayate || - Understanding Raj-Dharma

  • tags: no_tag

    • My first note is from a site curiously called Indian Officer. The excerpt below is a precis of Chapter XIX, “The Duties of a King” in Book I of ArthaShastra by Chanakya (emphasis added).

*** Excerpts from The Duties of a King (Raj-Dharma) ***

    • IF a king is energetic, his subjects will be equally energetic. If he is reckless, they will not only be reckless likewise, but also eat into his works. Besides, a reckless king will easily fall into the hands of his enemies. Hence the king shall ever be wakeful.
    • When in the court, he shall never cause his petitioners to wait at the door, for when a king makes himself inaccessible to his people and entrusts his work to his immediate officers, he may be sure to engender confusion in business, and to cause thereby public disaffection, and himself a prey to his enemies.
    • He shall, therefore, personally attend to the business of gods, of heretics, of Bráhmans learned in the Vedas, of cattle, of sacred places, of minors, the aged, the afflicted, and the helpless, and of women;—all this in order (of enumeration) or according to the urgency or pressure of those works.
    • In the happiness of his subjects lies his happiness; in their welfare his welfare; whatever pleases himself he shall not consider as good, but whatever pleases his subjects he shall consider as good.
    • Even then, sensing that Yudhishthir could still go astray, Shri Krishna prevailed upon him to meet Bhishma Pitamah to learn lessons of good governance. Here are a few gems from the mouth of Bhishma Pitamah –

O, King, just as the foot of an elephant covers every other foot, so does Rajdharma cover every aspect of Dharma, in all conditions, (chap.63/25).

Among all Dharmas, Rajdharma is supreme, as it provides nourishment to people of all Varnas (professions). Rajdharma encompasses all sacrifices. The sages, since ancient period, praise sacrifice as the best form of Dharma, (63/27).

The Sanatan Dharma got destroyed hundreds of time, but (each time) it was redeemed and spread again by Kshatra-dharma. In every age, Kshatra-dharma has to be active. Therefore, Kshatra-dharma is the best in the world, (64/26).

    • Vasudeva: Tell them something about Dharma and Rajdharma too Pitamah.

Bheeshma Pitamah: Dharma is not confined to rites and rituals. It is a balance of your duties and others’ rights. Thus, you must follow Dharma.

Raj Dharma (Dharma towards your nation) is the same. But a king’s duties are more than that of a citizen’s. If a situation calls for the partition of a nation, then call for war, but never partition the nation. Can you five brothers cut your mother into five and distribute amongst yourselves? If not, then how can you divide the motherland? I have committed this sin. Which is why I’m telling this. To delay war, I even agreed to the partition of the nation. Do not fall for this move Yudhisthir. Now I’m tired Vasudeva and won’t say anything more…

    • Use an old sock to clean your kitchen counter. This material lasts a long time, it’s easy to clean, and if you wring it well enough before using it will give a shine to the surface. You will save on washing soap and will also be re-using a discarded sock. If by any chance you use paper, then you are going to do a lot of good if you change to a sock.
    • Do you use paper to wipe your hands? Stop! Carry a handkerchief with you wherever you go and avoid using even the electric hand dryer at malls.
    • If you live in a developed country you probably use clothes dryers. Try not using them. Dry your clothes on a line.
    • Recycle your garbage. Start a compost pit in your building compound.
    • Use cloth bags for shopping. And refuse plastic bags when a shop keeper offers them to you. Ditto with paper bags.
    • Don’t give your clothes for a wash if you feel they are not dirty. Wear them again another day. And fold your clothes in such a way that they don’t need re-ironing.
    • Eat less! Remember the more you eat, the more you deplete the environment. You can turn vegetarian too, as eating meat is more of a burden on our earth.

Incognito thoughts: People of India

  • tags: no_tag

    • People of India are of four types.

One- Those who call themselves explicitly non-Hindu,
    • One- Those who call themselves explicitly non-Hindu, due to allegiance to certain ideology
    • Two- Those who call themselves non-Hindu due to a feeling of shame induced
    • Three- Those who call themselves Hindu.
    • Four- Those who sublimated personal identity. They live the lives of rishis. They experience the Vedas. While some of them live what may appear to be ordinary worldly life from outside, many live very close to nature. Their thoughts sustains spiritualty in this land and the world over.
    • People are dynamic. They keep changing their views. And many people shift from one group to another at different times. Such shifting is more prevalent between the second and third groups, sometimes from second to first group, rarely from first group to second. People of the fourth group, generally, do not shift.
