Hindu mandirs should be converted into schools for the teaching of Indian culture, music and dance as well as martial arts.
This suggestion was made on Thursday night at the formal opening of Divali Nagar 2009 in Chaguanas by Chief Guest, Ravi Rambaran, Chief Executive Officer of Sagicor International.
"The mandirs must not remain just a place of worship," he said , adding that it should be the centres of growth within Hindu communities.
