After Jaswant Singh, speculation on Sudheendra Kulkarni rejoining BJP - dnaindia.com
- After Jaswant Singh, another proposed homecoming is being talked about within the BJP.
-
Sudheendra Kulkarni, LK Advani’s former aide and the man who ran the former deputy prime minister’s war room during the 2009 election campaign, is likely to be rehabilitated.
There is a strong possibility that Kulkarni may be offered a position in party president Nitin Gadkari’s office.
Gadkari was said to be particularly impressed by Kulkarni’s “diligence” and had described him as an “original thinker”.
-
Kulkarni parted ways with the BJP in 2009, when he blamed the RSS and its network for the BJP's election defeat.
Kulkarni, who began life as a Communist-oriented journalist, has worked for a variety of entities — from Blitz to the BJP, the Hindujas to the Ambanis.
He recently took up a position at the Observer Research Foundation, a think-tank backed by Reliance Industries Limited.
- He tried his luck with the Trinamool Congress over the past year, and was even nominated to a committee of the Indian Railways. However, in recent times, Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee has been guarded about Kulkarni.
