Though no violence was reported in Kyathamaranahalli and Udayagiri localities, masked miscreants attacked a BJP Yuva Morcha leader Giridhar and his friend Wasim with lethal weapons on C V Road on Friday evening.
Giridhar was shifted to Mission Hospital and later to Apollo Hospital, where he is said to be battling for life with head injuries. Unconfirmed reports said he had succumbed to his injuries.
Wasim, who went to his rescue, also sustained head injuries and is recovering at Mission Hospital.
