UK minister walks out of Muslim wedding, triggers controversy

    • A minister in the Gordon Brown government has sparked a controversy as he and his wife walked out of a Muslim wedding after discovering that they would have to sit in separate rooms as per tradition.

      Jim Fitzpatrick, the Farming Minister, said the gender segregation was a sign of increasing radicalisation and was damaging for social cohesion, reports said today.
