Indonesia arrests six for 'sexy dancing' | Radio Netherlands Worldwide

    • Police in Indonesia city have arrested six people for performing "a sexy dance" at a cafe on New Year's Eve. The four female dancers, the group's leader and the owner of a cafe in the city of Bandung could face up to 15 years in prison.

A police spokesperson said the dancers had been wearing skimpy clothing. An anti-pornography law passed in October criminalises all bodily movements deemed obscene or a threat to public morality. The law has prompted protests across Indonesia amid fears it could threaten local traditions such as Bali temple dances or penis sheaths among Papua tribes.
