NGO asks Malaysian Government to promote Hinduism - Oneindia News

- The Malaysian Government has been urged by an NGO, the Malaysia Hindu Sangam, to give more importance to the growth of Hinduism under the Tenth Malaysia Plan.
- NGO president Mohan Shan said that a memorandum on the matter had been submitted to the Malaysian Government, the Makkal Osai reports.He said the Government had given grants for the development of temples but more funds were needed to set up kindergartens, and religious and moral classes.In Malaysia, more than 1.7 million Indians live, a majority of them are Tamil Hindus, who constitute seven percent of the multi-racial 28 million population.
