  • Hundreds of Adivasis from villages in Maharashtra’s Thane district were “reconverted” to Hinduism at a “purification” ceremony in Thane (west) on Monday.
  • Narendracharya said he was converting people who had originally been Hindus.
  • A five-stage ceremony was performed as part of the purification process, including a ritual involving cow’s milk, seeking forgiveness from ancestors, installation of Ganesh and Vishnu idols and yagna (an offering ritual) which was performed by priests from Ayodhya.

  • पुष्कर मेला व्यवस्था के नाम पर बाजार में घूम रही पालतु गायों एवं आवारा सांडों को पकड़ कर यहां से तीर्थ नगरी से बाहर ले जाने से आज विश्व हिन्दू परिषद एवं आरएसएस के कार्यकर्ताओं में रोष उत्पन्न हो गया। आक्रोशित लोगों ने नगर पालिका की इसके खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन किया तथा गायों को पुष्कर से बाहर नहीं ले जाने की मांग की।

  • ईओ ने बताया कि यहां से पकड़ी गई गायों कहीं लावारिश नहीं छोड़ा जा रहा है। बल्कि गायों को नारेली एवं अजमेर नागफणी स्थित गौ शाला में भिजवाया जा रहा है। इस पर आक्रोशित कार्यकर्ताओं ने अजमेर की जगह पास के गांव नांद स्थित गौ शाला में भिजवाने का आग्रह किया। इस पर ईओ सहमत हो गए।
