Why it is Necessary to Liberate Muslim Women from the Moving Prison Burqa

Why it is Necessary to Liberate Muslim Women from the Moving Prison Burqa: "It is really surprising that Muslim clerics and Muslims, to defend burqa, raise extremely ridiculous arguments. The most important argument is that the veil help women save themselves from lustful gaze of the men folk. It is really hard to believe that even well-educated Muslims may think a woman can be eye-raped by men. “However, the highest absurdity of this argument lies in the fact that men commit an unbecoming, indecent, even criminal, act and the women have to bear the consequence of it by taking responsibility of covering themselves up.

Doesn't she look lovely?

In fact, women derive pleasure from displaying their beauty to others, especially men and, indeed, a woman’s body is her personal property and she has right to display it in the way she wants. What is use of colorful costly and dazzling dresses if they are prevented from display such dresses by covering them with a black robe? So, burqa deprives the women to fulfill their natural desire to display their beauty and dresses to outsiders. On the other hand, civilized men must learn to restrain their passion and refrain from doing anything indecent. At the same time, it must be remembered that the veil or burqa originated to save the Muslim women from harassment, molestation and rape by their fellow Muslim men, which is clear from the verse (33. 59) of the Koean that reads, “O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers (i.e. of Muslims) to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognized and not annoyed.” In this context, it may be mentioned that, a verse of the Rigveda says that a hosehold does not prosper if its women forced to remain sad and depressed. On the contrary, a household prospers if its women are happy and cheerful.

To conclude, it may be said that, any attempt to reform Islam or Muslim lifestyle cannot be carried out without fierce resistance from the mullahs. But still we have to move forward to liberate Muslim women from the oppression of Islam. We must help them speak out against gender discrimination and other kinds of oppressions, including the veil. Because, among the Muslim women hibernates a terrible anti-Islamic force, which must be utilized in our war against Islam.
