Saharanpur DM says no to Varun Gandhi rally - Lucknow - City - The Times of India
- The Saharanpur district administration has denied the BJP permission to hold a rally of its leader Varun Gandhi on March 11. Officials said that the decision has been taken on the advise of the police. It's the third time in last one year that Varun has been denied permission for holding a public meeting in the state.
Alok Kumar, district magistrate, Saharanpur, told TOI that police officials informed him that they do not have enough manpower to deploy for the security during the rally because of the ongoing Mahakumbh in Haridwar. A large contingent of police has been deployed on the road leading to Haridwar because of heavy traffic movement and in view of the threat of a terror strike.
