Haindava Keralam - global community of dedicated Hindu Keralites with a peace mission
- When A.K. Antony said it earlier, the whole Malayalam media jumped on him and it even affected the results of some subsequent elections. Every one of the so-called intellectuals accused Antony for his anti-minority statement. All that he said was ‘Minority communities in Kerala are more organized and they are getting much more than what is legitimately due”. For anyone who is familiar with Kerala’s politics and sociology, this is the truth and nothing but the truth. Christians and Muslims who make up 25% each of the state’s population are enjoying much more their share in everything that is state funded and state owned. The condition of paper-majority Hindus is going from bad to worse under the alternate UDF and LDF governments.
When a state’s Chief Minister (who belongs to the minority community himself) is making such a statement, the gravity of the situation is obvious. One should remember that he is a constitutional authority and he is speaking with all authority and knowledge. It is not like any other politician or he himself when is not the Chief Minister. Yet no one took it seriously in the way it should have been. An independent and alert media would have completely exposed the situation with all facts and figures. But the minority-managed (and NRI funded) media was too eager to put out the fire of truth unleashed in their unworthy ‘fortress of minority rights’ by the Chief Minister. The silence of NSS, SNDP, KPMS etc., was too loud and pathetic.
And now, the state’s Chief Minister has said it again. This time by comrade Achudanandan. Kerala’s minority community outfits are growing in strength and their bargaining power is intimidating even the state authority. KCBC, Jamat-E-Islami, PDP, NDF etc., are openly challenging authority of a duly elected state government in all spheres. In the educational sector, the Church run institutions are in open defiance and they care two hoots for the state government. And extremist Islamic elements, with a growing terrorist identity, are openly challenging state’s authority in even law and order issue. Very soon the state will not be in a position to protect even the lives and basic fundamental rights of its majority citizens if the trend continues. Under UDF the situation is expected to be worse, until & unless the truly secular leaders start blowing their whistles
