VivekaJyoti: (Arunachal Pradesh) Forcible Conversion of Tutsa janjatis to Christianity by NSCN (K)
Hindu temple attacked in Australia - Save temples | hindujagruti.org
Sri Mandir at Auburn, which is more than three decades old, was attacked by two men, who were wearing balaclavas or ski masks, on the night of March 19.
The attackers were caught on CCTV firing shots at the temple. No one was killed or seriously injured in the incident, which created panic among the temple's priest and worshippers, local media reported.
A police spokeswoman was quoted as saying by the 'Sydney Morning Herald' newspaper that detectives were working closely with the community as part of investigation into the incident.
Rohit Revo, a Sydney resident and editor of a local newspaper 'The Indian', said the footage of the attack was handed over to police, but nothing has been done to solve the issue.
"Few bullets hit the wall at the temple entrance, just a feet away from the main door. One of the bullets grazed through the wall and ricocheted hitting the emergency door on the side of the temple," he was quoted as saying.
"A bullet was also fired on the roof of the temple which found its way through the false ceiling inside the temple. Looking at the bullet marks on the temple walls suggests that specialised big bullets were used in the operation," he said.
Normal bullets are of a very small width but these bullets have created bigger holes on the walls, Revo said.
"Neighbours are also sick of the escalating violence and have extended silent support to the temple by sending them e-mails etc but fear speaking in the public," he said, adding the recent incident was not the first one as the temple has been attacked several times since 2004.
Last November, some people armed with metal bars had smashed two windows of the temple, when six worshippers were inside.
The temple's priest Jatinkumar Bhatt claimed that he had also been harassed by youths in the past, but the latest shooting incident left him scared.
"I have a family as well, three kids and my wife," he said. "Throwing eggs and bottles is an ongoing process but this bullet really put us in a panic."
Time To Unmask Muhammad – an article by Geert Wilders | Faithfreedom.org
Ali Sina is an Iranian ex-Muslim who established the organisation for apostates of Islam Faith Freedom International. In his latest book he posits that Muhammad is a narcissist, a paedophile, a mass murderer, a terrorist, a misogynist, a lecher, a cult leader, a madman, a rapist, a torturer, an assassin and a looter.
Sina has offered 50,000 dollars for the one who can prove otherwise. Nobody has claimed the reward as yet. And no wonder, as the description is based on the Islamic texts themselves, such as the hadiths, the descriptions of Muhammad’s life from testimonies of contemporaries.
VivekaJyoti: The use of Grass-Root-Efforts to create awareness amongst Hindus of the challenges they face from the western marauding faiths.
The Christians and the Islamists use (1) Network Emails, (3) Social Media, (3) Street corner and door to door distribution of information, (4) Arial drops, (5) Broadcast media, (6) their own network -Al-Jazeera & others, (7) Newspaper & magazine Ads and lastly (8) through their preachings at their Mosques all over. They are organized like ants and Meerkats, whereas we are disorganized. We need to organize ourselves quickly, as people are being killed as we discuss the merits and demerits of grassroots and propaganda. It is this kind of propaganda through contemporary media outlets, rabid activism and intimidation, yes intimidation that has turned a 100% Christian Lebanon in 1950 to 80% Muslim Lebanon in 2008, this is what has happened in Indonesia (even though their culture is still Hindu), Malaysia, Thailand and now going on in India.
Grassroots is the base of the political pyramid, as the opposite is the establishment that controls the top. Grassroots by its design is inclusive, everyone can be involved, and there in lies the delay, in the organizing aspect of it.

Church-run schools, which received colonial state patronage and government funds, provided education in English as compared to the education in the vernacular languages in Sinhala and Tamil provided by temples and Buddhist monasteries. English education was mandatory for admission to institutions of higher learning which in turn led to employment in government institutions.
The Church in Sri Lanka, in an extension of its rice-bowl conversion in Africa, made admission to their schools and colleges conditional upon religious conversion to Christianity in what may be termed blackboard conversion. The Church in South India targeted the Tamil Nadar community similarly; thus within the same family those who opted to send their children to missionary schools converted to Christianity and were given alien foreign sounding Christian names.
Not surprisingly, in the early years of the twentieth century only those Sri Lankans - Sinhala and Tamil - who were English-educated were employed by the British administration in government jobs and the same section emerged as frontrunners in the country’s polity too. Bandaranaike, Jayawardene, Lakshman Kadirgamar, Chelvanayakam and even Ranasinghe Premadasa, son of Richard Ranasinghe, were all Christians. The Church had never had it so good; except that the notion of Tamil People which the Church had sown in society rebounded on the Church in an unexpected turn of events.
While the Church fabricated the Tamil People/Tamil Nation fiction in India vis-à-vis the Brahmins, its work to plant the cancerous cell in Sri Lanka was made easier because the Tamil language and its culture/people had to be presented as being separate only vis-à-vis the Sinhala language and its culture/people. The fact that both the Sinhala speaking people and the Tamil speaking people were civilisationally, culturally and religiously bound to Hinduism and bound by the umbilical cord to the Hindu bhumi in equal measure was pushed to the margins of their collective consciousness; and identity of language was privileged over civilisational identity.
The Buddhist clergy in Sri Lanka, like the non-Brahmins of Tamil Nadu, was a willing customer for Church peddled separatism.
The success of the Church propaganda that the Tamil speaking people of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu were a separate nationality can be gauged from the fact that while the Buddhist clergy, reacting strongly to Tamil separatism which had reared its head even before independence in 1948, wanted to push the Tamil speaking people of Sri Lanka to the margins of national life, it remained sanguine to the fact that every President that the country elected was Christian; Sinhala Christian. The Buddhist clergy was prepared to accommodate an Abrahamic religion into its conception of Sinhala nationalism, while refusing to reach out to the civilisationally related Tamil Hindus who constituted 15% of the population.
Pitting brother against brother is classic Abrahamic/Christian war tactics going back to the Old Testament.
Christians who constitute 7.5% of the population were tactically distributed among the 74% Sinhala, 12.6 % Tamil and 5.19% Indian Tamil populace, thus giving the Church a powerful leverage among all sections of the language divide.
Every penny and paisa that the Church spends, it spends as investment towards realizing its core objective – control of communities leading to control of polity leading ultimately to control of government culminating in bloody or bloodless conquest of territory. The path to this objective is religious conversion; what was achieved solely through enculturation in the 16th and 17th centuries, through the Church’s missionary educational and medical institutions in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries is now being achieved through NGOs, through an aggressive political discourse in religious freedom and human rights which always work only to the Church’s advantage to facilitate penetration, conversion and conquest.
Investing in political parties is the Church’s latest venture in Tamil Nadu. The Church’s investment, besides the time-tested and highly successful strategy of planting Christians in important ruling families through the love angle or as close confidants to politicians, is three-pronged –
The Church is not going to invest money into their parties and the state only to have Karunanidhi and family, Jayalalithaa and baggage to enjoy the fruits of power. The Church wants the whole of Tamil Nadu and a large part of Sri Lanka. If the DMK, AIADMK and the BJP do not see this even now, it may well spell their doom. The Congress in Tamil Nadu is recruiting Christians into the party at all levels – educated, poorly educated, as leaders and as cadre.
Centre mulls ban on live telecast of Baba Ramdev's programmes in Aastha TV
HYDERABAD: Justice L Narasimha Reddy of the High Court on Tuesday sought the response of the central government to a petition that charged it with blocking live telecast of programmes being conducted by yoga guru Baba Ramdev. The petitioner contended that apart from teaching yoga, the baba was enlightening people about the ill-effects of black money and money stashed away in foreign banks. The judge was responding to a petition filed by B Rammohan Reddy, an advocate, who said he was aggrieved by the sudden cancellation of Ramdev Baba's early morning programmes being regularly telecast by Aastha TV channel. Because the Centre was not happy with the speeches of the baba on black money, it ordered the channel to stop live telecast of his yoga camps with effect from March 21, K Ashok Reddy, the counsel for the petitioner, told the court. "By following Baba Ramdev's instructions, I was able to do yoga exercises. Now, that facility is gone. My diabetic problem and other ailments were controlled to a large extent because of my regular exercises and now I fear they may return owing to my inability to do this exercise in the absence of any guidance from the baba," the petitioner said. When the judge sought to know the response of the Centre, Ponnam Ashok Goud, assistant solicitor general, assured the court that he would get back soon. |

Fascism is a difficult word, because it comes with an iconography that touches the Nazi nerve and is abused as propaganda against America’s official enemies and to promote the West’s foreign adventures with a moral vocabulary written in the struggle against Hitler. And yet fascism and imperialism are twins. In the aftermath of world war two, those in the imperial states who had made respectable the racial and cultural superiority of “western civilisation”, found that Hitler and fascism had claimed the same, employing strikingly similar methods. Thereafter, the very notion of American imperialism was swept from the textbooks and popular culture of an imperial nation forged on the genocidal conquest of its native people. And a war on social justice and democracy became “US foreign policy”.
As the Washington historian William Blum has documented, since 1945, the US has destroyed or subverted more than 50 governments, many of them democracies, and used mass murderers like Suharto, Mobutu and Pinochet to dominate by proxy. In the Middle East, every dictatorship and pseudo-monarchy has been sustained by America. In “Operation Cyclone”, the CIA and MI6 secretly fostered and bank-rolled Islamic extremism. The object was to smash or deter nationalism and democracy. The victims of this western state terrorism have been mostly Muslims. The courageous people gunned down last week in Bahrain and Libya, the latter a “priority UK market”, according to Britain’s official arms “procurers”, join those children blown to bits in Gaza by the latest American F-16 aircraft.
The revolt in the Arab world is not merely against a resident dictator but a worldwide economic tyranny designed by the US Treasury and imposed by the US Agency for International Development, the IMF and World Bank, which have ensured that rich countries like Egypt are reduced to vast sweatshops, with half the population earning less than $2 a day. The people’s triumph in Cairo was the first blow against what Benito Mussolini called corporatism, a word that appears in his definition of fascism.
How did such extremism take hold in the liberal West? “It is necessary to destroy hope, idealism, solidarity, and concern for the poor and oppressed,” observed Noam Chomsky a generation ago, “[and] to replace these dangerous feelings with self-centred egoism, a pervasive cynicism that holds that [an order of] inequities and oppression is the best that can be achieved. In fact, a great international propaganda campaign is under way to convince people – particularly young people – that this not only is what they should feel but that it’s what they do feel.”
Like the European revolutions of 1848 and the uprising against Stalinism in 1989, the Arab revolt has rejected fear. An insurrection of suppressed ideas, hope and solidarity has begun. In the United States, where 45 per cent of young African-Americans have no jobs and the top hedge fund managers are paid, on average, a billion dollars a year, mass protests against cuts in services and jobs have spread to heartland states like Wisconsin. In Britain, the fastest-growing modern protest movement, UK Uncut, is about to take direct action against tax avoiders and rapacious banks. Something has changed that cannot be unchanged. The enemy has a name now.

A Cure for the Corruption in India, By Stephen Knapp
Throughout my travels in India, while lecturing at so many cities and venues, it is not unusual for businessmen, industrialists, or even professors to ask me what I think should be done about all the corruption in India, which exists on every level.
The British also helped jump start this corruption by two things:
First the bureaucracy they established in their managerial system which they used against the Indians, most of which was adopted by the Indians in the form of a Parliamentary government and which allows for the loopholes and cracks in the system for the continuation of so much corruption.
Secondly, while under the British, the citizens of India were forced to struggle so hard to exist that it forced them to think in terms of the survival of their own immediate family while giving up the consideration of the whole community. After so many years of that conditioning, this need for self-preservation and the desire to fulfill selfish concerns went from one generation to the next until it became a general trend to get whatever you need regardless of the consequences or how it affects others.
The Indian constitution itself, under the guise of freedom and fairness for the minority religions, fuels corruption and inequality by favoring the few at the expense of the majority Vedic or Hindu population. How can this inspire a united vision?
This goes back to the point that there is no real lack of anything in this world in regard to resources needed to survive. The only real lack is God-consciousness and the higher vision to see that spiritually we are all the same and that we are only barrowing things from the Supreme during the short duration of the life we are given. Thus, the world’s resources need to be distributed in a way so everyone benefits, and that it is not monopolized by greedy people in prominent positions.
Such a disease can only be cured or purged in society by having the proper training, especially while young and still growing up, in order to add the appropriate character building traits necessary to know what is a decent and balanced human being and how to be one.
THE CURE FOR THE PERVASIVE CORRUPTION
As I said earlier, I am often asked when I am in India what to do about all of this corruption. I always answered that the best thing that I know of is to continue to teach the ethical and moralistic standards as found in Vedic Dharma. Fortunately for me, this was reaffirmed while I was in Bangalore with my visit with the eminent M. Rama Jois, the retired Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. He told me that this was indeed the best way to relieve the country of all the corruption that we see, but he explained the best means to do that.
M. Rama Jois told me that before the independence of India in 1947, there used to be government pre-schools where the children would go to learn, not necessarily how to read and write, but about the basic rules of Dharma. Then the children would also hear of the examples of Dharma from the great epics, like the Mahabharata and Ramayana or Puranas, and about those great heroes who acted in various situations under the rules of Dharma. This way, before the children ever went to general school to learn reading and writing, etc., they were already educated in the proper content of character to know how to act as a proper human being, and know how to judge what is right or wrong in the various situations of life.
Unfortunately, it was after 1947 when the new administration of independent India decided that learning the ethics of Dharma was religious study, and that the new secular government could no longer support such pre-schools. Thus, all such education of basic moralistic principles under Dharma were no longer to be taught in the schools of India. And since that time, the materialistic selfishness, greed, and the insensitivity to the situation of others for the benefit of oneself, have all increased to the point where now it is almost all-pervasive.
As M. Rama Jois explains in his book Dharma: The Global Ethic, “All our present day problems are a direct result of disregarding Dharma, under the influence of a materialistic philosophy, in the belief that it alone can usher in happiness and secure the welfare of the people. Now it is becoming clear that human problems increase as we go on multiplying our lust and desire for material wealth and pleasure, and that the solution to all the problems, whether they be social, economic or political, and in particular the crash of our moral edifice which the world and our nation are facing, is Dharma alone. There is no alternative to Dharma. This is the eternal truth. This can be realized if we understand the real meaning of Dharma.”
So, what is Dharma? I have already written more extensively about this, but to put it simply, the Mahabharata (Shanti Parva, 109.9-11) says: “Dharma has been explained to be that which helps the upliftment of living beings. Therefore, that which ensures the welfare of living beings is surely Dharma. The learned rishis have declared that which sustains is Dharma.”
A little more clarity can also be provided by Madhavacharya, a Minister to Hakka and Bukka, founders of the Vijayanagar Empire, in his commentary on the Parashara Smriti: “Dharma is that which sustains and ensures progress and welfare of all in this world and eternal bliss in the next world. Dharma is promulgated in the form of commands (rules both positive and negative, Vidhi and Nishedha).”
The Mahabharata (Shanti Parva, 90.3) also says that “The proper function of the king [or any ruler or politician] is to rule according to Dharma and not to enjoy the luxuries of life.” Thus, a politician is not meant to take advantage of his position, but to execute his duties with the welfare of the people in mind, under the guidance of the rules of Dharma.
The basic rules of Dharma, as explained in the Manu-samhita (10.63) are: “Ahimsa (non-violence), Satya (truthfulness), Asteya (not acquiring illegitimate wealth), Shoucham (purity), and Indriyanigraha (control of the senses) are, in brief, the common rules of Dharma for all classes of men.”
These are the Yamas and Niyamas, which also includes Santosha–satisfaction or contentment of mind with what one has without undue endeavor; Tapas–voluntary austerity and tolerance in body, mind, and speech for a higher cause; Swadhyaya–self-analysis, introspection, scriptural research, and reflection to understand and perceive who and what is our real identity and how we are progressing; Ishwara-pranidhana–acceptance, devotion, and surrender to God, or the offering of the fruits of one’s actions to God; and Brahmacharya–following the eternal principle of Brahma, or the control of sensual passions in thought, word, and deed, particularly in the student stage of life.
Therefore, by learning these rules, how to apply them in all aspects of life, and by hearing the examples of the great souls in India’s history and great epics, a child would develop and build his character to be a truly strong, balanced and properly motivated individual who can continue to develop him or herself, and be a true contribution to the rest of society. When this kind of training is received at a young age, it can last for one’s whole life. This is what makes a difference in all aspects of society.
Training in Dharma, which is certainly at the heart of India’s Vedic tradition, can help provide for an orderly society. And an orderly society is the result and an expansion or even incarnation of Dharma.
This leads us to understand that the real happiness and prosperity of any nation is directly proportional to the number of men of character it has produced. This is why it is in the interest of the state or government to supply the means by which all children can understand these principles through appropriate education.
Therefore, it is this education that again needs to be offered and supplied to young students in India. This can be done by the government re-establishing the pre-schools, as previously mentioned, to teach the principles of Dharma. Or, as I have seen on my 2010 trip to India, through a grassroots effort of individuals, or husband and wife teams who give such classes on Dharma to the children of their neighbors or friends on weekends, such as Sunday mornings, they begin to influence each child who attends. This is very effective and will have long range results. Thus, everyone can do something. But people should team up and work together to make this possible and duplicate these methods that are successfully used in order to expand this process all across the country. They should also work with those honest and reputable politicians to help again establish such pre-schools throughout the nation so that gradually India can again return to being a country where corruption is not so pervasive. Then the character of the country will reflect the content of the character of the people who inhabit it.
Euthanasia: The Life-Death Continuum – Sandhya Jain
Some unsatisfactory aspects of the Supreme Court judgment derive from a tacit assumption that the worldly life is the summon bonum (highest good) of existence. There appears to be a bias towards Western materialism and its bizarre quest to prolong human life to the point of abolishing death. This derives from the belief that there is just one life, at the end of which the soul remains in limbo for aeons, till the Day of Judgment assigns it to eternal heaven or hell. – Sandhya Jain

This was the lemon sold to Kashmiri Hindus too in the name of Kashmiriyat. The Kashmiriyat lemon sold to Kashmiri Hindus by Kashmiri Muslims (almost certainly this fiction was fabricated in the colonial Christian mind and its potential allowed to sprout in the Kashmiri Muslim mind) said, we Kashmiris are unique and so Kashmiri Hindus have more in common with Kashmiri Muslims than with Hindus in the rest of India.
This is vintage Christian war strategy - de-link the target community from its parent, give it a sense of separateness resulting in alienation, render it defenseless, alone and vulnerable, and then step in for the kill. The political propaganda that Sikhism is not Hinduism, Jainism is not Hinduism, is a piece of the same diabolic Church fabric. Sikhs and Jains who mouth this Church fiction must look at the tragic fate of Kashmiri Hindus which does not warrant repetition here."

महाजाल पर सुरेश चिपलूनकर (Suresh Chiplunkar): कुत्ते की टेढ़ी पूँछ पाकिस्तान तथा विदेश मंत्रालय और मीडिया से बेहतर आवारा कुत्ते…… Pakistan’s Anti-India Policy and Stray Dogs in Kashmir

Haindava Keralam - The Enemy Within
In a remarkable event at the India Today Conclave Dr. Subramania Swamy spoke honestly and forthrightly on the question of how there cannot be social harmony in the Indian subcontinent until the two proselytizing religions Christianity and Islam accept that India is a Hindu majority country with a long history of religious tolerance that was shattered with the coming of the Islamic and Christian (British) regimes. It ended with the Partition of Akhanda Bharat and the successive ethnic cleansing of Hindus from Bangladesh, Pakistan and within Indian itself, in the state of Kashmir.Nearly 500,000 Kashmiri Hindus were driven out of Kashmir merely because they were Hindus. The Hindu population of Bangladhesh which had been 35% is now v7 %. Likewise in Pakistan.
As Shri R.Venkatanarayanan, former Secretary to the Government of India, later former
National Secretary of the HDAS (Hindu Dharma Acharya Sabha) and currently Advisor to Swami Dayananda Sarasvati, put it :
“ As far as I can recall, this is the first time in India that an eminent person has spoken so openly from a non- religious platform that social harmony in India, a religiously pluralistic society, is dependent on how Christianity and Islam conduct themselves in regard to Hinduism. Unless what Sri Swamy has brought out is assiduously buried deep by vested interests (the media will do its best to do so) the consequence in civil debate in India is likely to benefit social harmony. Hindus are the best neighbours in the world, provided their toes are not trampled upon. “ ( in an e-mail to Breakingindia.group)

The Fakir's Mask: Public Apparitions of Sai Baba in and around Mumbai
Abstract: This talk about the modern Indian charismatic Sai Baba of Shirdi (1830s–1918) takes up the question of the apparent ubiquity of his likeness in contemporary Mumbai, where it circulates as the emblem of a universalistic religious attitude (with a specific emphasis on Hindu-Muslim comity). The argument builds on ethnographic research on the public streets, where a diverse constituency—-to be identified with shantytown residents who retain ties with their villages—-erects shrines housing images of Hindu deities and other protector figures. Foremost among these figures is Sai Baba. The inquiry encountered a dramatic turn when municipal officials, acting in the name of the public interest, initiated citywide demolitions of "illegal religious structures." The episode may be framed as a clash of rival geographies, with zones marked by Sai Baba to be identified as generically sacred space, ostensibly free of sectarian loyalties. But if the image's address functioned in this way among a religiously diverse subaltern population, the claim proved unrecognizable in the eyes of the state.
Bio: William Elison is an IHUM Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford. Trained at Chicago in the History of Religions Program, he specializes in the ethnography of religious life in subaltern India. He is currently working on a study of practices of marking and organizing sacred space in the slums, streets, and film studios of Mumbai. He has authored articles about local cultic practices and their mediation by public-cultural forms in slum-based and tribal communities and, in collaboration with two colleagues, has also begun writing a book about that landmark of 1970s Hindi cinema, Manmohan Desai's Amar Akbar Anthony.

A Sad Story of Study in Sanskrit
*** Sad Story of Study in Sanskrit by Dr Jyotsna Kamat ***
Meanwhile Arvind was trying for a teaching job in school or college throughout the state. Corruption is rampant every where in India. A huge amount is expected as donation by the institutions, which advertise the post. The government is the only employer and pressure for employment is such that entrance examination for teachers’ jobs has become compulsory. Qualifying age is increased and job aspirants’ numbers are mind boggling. Arvind is ready to take any job, clerical, teaching or management.
P.S. Please do leave a comment here in case you are aware of any suitable employment opportunities for Arvind. I hope to speak to him sometime over the next few days and will be mentioning about these two posts to him: Public Service post on Positions, Vacancies in Indic Studies and Mathematics, History and worms eating manuscripts…

INDIAN MEDIA’S LATEST STRATEGY: Ignore Sonia loot. Focus on Jaitley misquote.
I hope you got it.
Sonia has looted nation’s exchequer to the tune of lakhs of crores.
She has made a mockery of democracy by purchasing MPs for 10 crore apiece.
She has made a mockery of Hindutva through fake charge on terrorism.
And… yet, all that our honourable media does is to focus on Arun Jaitley’s misquote.
Arun Jaitley is just a red-herring. Sonia is the real thing. Nothing official about it.
"Delusions of Intellect
Ramachandra Guha is a deconstructionist’s delight, a hypocrite’s role model and a template for aspiring court historians. What does St. Stephen’s feed its wards that entire armies of them become Hindu haters and gatekeepers of the West? The list of its alumni who’ve made it big is truly horrifying: Natwar Singh, Digvijay Singh, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Khushwant Singh, Barkha Dutt, Mukul Kesavan, Prem Shankar Jha, Samir Jain, Vikram Chandra, and Ramachandra Guha. All of them, ultra-careerists endowed with a special knack of recognizing the buttered side of the bread, all of them united by the tough fibre of visceral hatred for the Sangh Parivar and the BJP. And of late, Narendra Modi.
Guha’s latest piece is a generous outpouring of smelly textual excreta that flows over 1286 words. And that’s putting it charitably: you can’t dignify this horrendous retching by terming it a personal attack on Narendra Modi. Guha doesn’t have a point unless you want to call vile pamphleteering as a point. And he fails spectacularly at the said vile pamphleteering. Mr. Guha, I’ll show you how it’s done.
Ram Guha is the latest proof that Mahatma Gandhi still retains career-making prospects of epic proportions. From a cricket commentator-historian to Pontificator on Everything From Ecology to Arundhati Roy to Hagiographer as Historian , Guha has traversed thousands of miles. On occasion, he loves to share his wet dreams about the fact that he’s engaged in researching on the Mahatma and that it’s educative, transformative, blah blah blah. The one thing he doesn’t say is this: how much of what he’s learnt from Gandhi does he actually practice. Your answer is as good as mine: none. Gandhi was the king of frugal living. Guha wears his suits, knows his cocktails, travels by cars and flights and attends expensive book release functions. This is a gushing, fawning, almost-slavish and for those very reason, very accurate “profile” of the guy who goes around today preaching about the subliminal impact Gandhi can have on your life. Gandhi preached and practiced the dictums of hate none and forgive thy enemy. Guha has left behind massive trails of undisguised BJP, Hindutva, Modi, and Sangh Parivar-bashing. Gandhi’s ishta devata (personal God of choice and liking) was Rama while Guha’s mouth-frothing incoherence on the Ram Mandir issue is well-known. Gandhi spun the charaka as a means to cleanse the soul of impurities. We know what Guha spins.
Are these the transformative experiences Guha has had in his soul-altering research on the Mahatma including the stuff about the Sabarmati Ashram?
Here’s the thing Mr. Guha: you see what you want to see. There’s no other way or explanation. You travel to Ahmedabad and fail to see the commendable BRT implementation in the city. Instead, you see some monument built to honour Mahatma Gandhi and get all riled up like a braindead model who found a pimple on her cheek. Really, who’s paranoid here, Mr. Guha? Finally, if you hate Modi so much, you should as a matter of principle, stay away from Gujarat.
Mr. Ramachandra Guha, how can you look at yourself in the mirror?
