- Mr. Aphale was speaking in a series of lectures organized by Savarkar- devotees. Mr. Aphale said, “At a very young age, Savarkar plunged into freedom fight. He sent weapons to his motherland, fully knowing the requirement of arms. Later, the British Government tortured him but he did not lose courage. He was sentenced to life imprisonment twice and sent to Andaman jail. The Government confiscated not only his house but also his land and farm. The property is still in the custody of the Government.”
