Beef will not be served in CW games: Lt Governor

Delhi Lt Governor Tejender Khanna today assured a Vishwa Hindu Parishad delegation that beef will not be served during the Commonwealth Games to be held in October here.
The VHP delegation, comprising Vice-president Omprakash Singhal, state general secretary Satendra Mohan and state organising secretary Karuna Prakash, submitted a memorandum for eliminating beef from the Commonwealth Games menu.

The memorandum was also submitted against the increasing cases of cow slaughter in the capital which the LG took a serious note of and issued instructions to the departments concerned and Delhi police to take stern steps to curb cow slaughter in the capital.
He assured the delegation that strict action will be taken in the cases already registered for the cause and the cases registered against the 'gau bhakts' may be withdrawn.
